Loving God and Carrying Out His Commands

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

1 John 5:2-5

It seems like such a hard thing to do to carry out God’s commands. If we did carry out His commands, the world would not be in the state that it is in. Sadly, sin is far too great in this earth and people seem more and more afraid to stand up in God’s truth. The people of God have become weak instead of being the overcomers that we are supposed to be. We are far too caught up in the world and have allowed the world to dictate what we say or do. But that is not how we are to be. We are not of this world but we live in this world. And our whole lives are to be lived in God and for God. Our lives should be overflowing with God’s love and being a light of His in the darkness of this world. We have become angry; we have accepted far too much of the devil’s lies in our lives. If we believe that Jesus is God and that He died for our sins, why are we not living a life that reflects our belief? Why are we afraid of what the world says? Why are we not afraid of losing our eternal life but not living the way, the truth and the life of God? Why have we allowed the world to take God out of every part of life?

There is hope for us though because God has not left us alone. We have to pray, my brothers and sisters, that God will revive us. We have to pray and ask God to forgive us for being lukewarm in our faith and not holding fast to our faith no matter what the world says. There are many who do stand in their faith. Just look to the baker who said no to create a cake for someone who does not live according to God. It is one thing to sell cupcakes or other things but when someone is asking us to do something that does not follow God’s commands, we have to say no. A doctor or nurse or anyone who works in the medical field have to say no to participate in an abortion. A married person has to not lust after another and commit adultery. A person must keep themselves pure until marriage. And marriage must be according to God’s way, not the world that accepts the lies of the devil. God only created two genders, male and female. There is nothing other than that. We must stand in the gap and reject the world’s lies. God’s command is that one does not live a life of homosexuality. God’s command is that we do not lie to one another or to Him. God commands that we do not gossip or slander. God’s command us not to hurt each other. God commands us to worship Him and put Him first in our lives and to love others as He loves us and as we love ourselves.

If we love according to God’s love, we will show our faith and the truth of God in our lives.

My sisters and brothers, it is time for us to pray to God and ask Him to increase of faith. We have let the devil have his way far too long and because we are weak in our faith the world is about to overcome us. We have to say God’s truth in every matter, even if the world tries to stop us we cannot be stopped by the world.

When we die in this life and we come before God, how are you going to answer Him when He asks you why you did not stand up for unborn children? How are you going to answer Him when He asks you why you broke your wedding vows? How are you going to answer Him about your life of sexual immorality? How are you going to answer Him when He asks you about the times you lied, cheated and stole? How are you going to answer Him when He asks you about living according to the world’s standards instead of His standards? God’s ways are not our ways. His way is perfect; the world’s way is not.

My brothers and sisters, we have to stand up and say that sin is sin and do so by the life that we lead. We need to live our lives as God’s people, walking in the way of the LORD. God sees every part of us; the good and the bad. If we say that we did not know what those who live in sin are doing, then we are liars. We cannot try and feign our way out of the fact that we did not tell others God’s truth because we are afraid of what the world would say. My sisters and brothers, be not afraid of the world. Be overcomers of the lies of the devil and walk faithfully in God’s way, His truth and His life.

We should be in awe of the fact that GOD our Creator, loves us so much, that even though we sin, He came to earth to show us how we are to live. We need to know our history, and the Bible provides God’s truth. This is our guide book, our love letter from God so that we can learn from Him. Even though He provides many ways for us to learn from Him, we must still read His Word and live our lives according to His Word. And His commands are not burdensome. His way is not hard, His truth is eternal and the life that He lived on earth is our example of how we are to live.

Are you living in the confidence that when you die that you will be with God forever? If you do not know that your name is written in the book of Life, than you must change the way you are living.

We need a revival in our faith.

We need to tell those who do not know God about God. If we are His children than let us live our lives according to what He teaches us. We need to know that when the time comes and we stand before God and He asks us if we lived our lives according to His way, His truth and His life, we can say yes with confidence.

Our sins have already been forgiven. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. And when we come before Him and ask Him to forgive us for our sins and accept Him as our LORD and Savior, we can in confidence live a redeemed life. But it seems like far too many of us are living as if we do not believe in our Salvation. We are not walking in the victory that was won for our lives through the cross of Jesus. We need to live our lives as a new person in Christ, putting off the old man of sin and putting on the victorious cross of Jesus! We need to walk in the light of Jesus! We need to know that God’s promises are true and that He will bring us to what He created us to be if we live our lives as part of His vine; always living in Him and He in us. God wants every part of us, as true believers that worship Him in Spirit and in His truth.

We have this confidence before God, that by living our lives as confidence believers, we will always be in His way. And because we know Him and His truth, we can be confident that we can come before Him and ask Him for what we need to live our lives as His redeemed and He will give us what we need to do so.

Let us throw off our prideful and sinful life and be clothed in the light of Jesus. Let us be bold in our faith and teach others by the life that we live so that they too can come to know Him. Let us boldly live as beacons of God to show His light to those walking in darkness of sin. Let us not be afraid to call what God calls a sin a sin. And let us walk in love, God’s amazing love, being God’s vessel to work though. Allow God to use us as His hands and feet. God does not want government to feed us but that we as brothers and sisters of God, to feed one another. Let us feed each other with His Word. Let us throw off the shackles of sin and break off the chains of the lies of the devil and live a victorious life in Christ.

Do not look for praise from other humans but look to praise from God. This world holds nothing for us because the evil one has corrupted this world through his lies. We are not of this world because we are children of God.

My brothers and sisters, by His cross, we are healed. Let us walk a healed life, that no matter what, we never give up. Let us walk as His children. Let us stop looking at one another with hate, calling each other names. Let us see each other as children of God and beautiful in His sight. There is no difference between us because we are beautifully created in the image of God. God loves us and wants us to love Him. And we can accept His victory and walk His life. We are His children; let us love each other.

We have a choice in the life we are to live. To live redeemed and as God’s child, or to live condemned because we follow the devil and his lies.

Choose this day whom you will serve: God or the evil one.

Father, we come before You and ask You to help us live as redeemed. Help us to learn to walk a victorious life, living a life that shows that You have won the victory over sin. Help us to live in You and You in us. Thank You Jesus for choosing to come to earth and show us how You want us to live. Thank You God for conquering death and sin. Help us to be unafraid of speaking Your way, Your truth and Your life. We ask this in Your Name Jesus. Amen.
